   Make a Gift   Gift Methods: Online Gift Options: Designating Your Gift Make a Gift to St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation welcomes your support! By making a gift to SJMC Foundation, you can enhance your charitable and financial objectives and choose among a range of tax-deductible options to make a gift. To confirm that we receive your gift and for tax purposes, we will send you a letter documenting the gift amount. US Mail (Check or Credit Card) You may choose to make a single donation or pledge to SJMC Foundation. Matching gifts Many employers will match your charitable contribution. This is an extremely effective way to maximize your donation. Check with your Human Resources office today to see if your charitable contribution is matched by your employer. Planned Gifts Wills, charitable gift annuities, life insurance policies, property and trusts are examples of planned gifts which can extend your support of the SJMC Foundation into the future in a significant way. We will be happy to provide you with general information about how to incorporate a planned gift to the SJMC Foundation into your estate plan. Stocks and Other Appreciated Assets Appreciated securities are a great way to make a gift to St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation. A gift of appreciated securities not only helps to provide top-quality, compassionate medical care, it may also provide you a charitable income tax deduction and the avoidance of paying capital gains tax on your appreciation. Designating Your Gift When making a donation in support of St. Joseph Medical Center, you may state the purpose for which you would like SJMC Foundation to use your gift. Please consider supporting one of the Medical Center’s key strategic areas such as Women's Heart Health, Oncology, Women's Services, Nursing Education, Neurosciences, Medical Equipment, Cardiovascular Services or our Downtown Reading Campus. In Memory or In Honor There are many occasions in life which prompt us to give. Gifts to SJMC Foundation are tax-deductible and can be made in several ways. You may wish to commemorate an anniversary, birthday, holiday, or make your gift in memory of a loved one or friend. Honoring a special person in your life through a gift to the SJMC Foundation is a meaningful way of showing your respect, appreciation and love. When making your gift, please indicate the name of the person you wish to honor and provide a mailing address as appropriate on the giving form, in a short note or in the memo portion of a check addressed to St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation. We will send notification of your generous gift to the family of the individual memorialized or the person honored Our online giving site and our downloadable donation form instructs us to notify others that you have made a gift in memory or in honor of someone. Guardian Angel Program A stay in the hospital isn't always the easiest of times in our lives. It can be a time of uncertainty and anxiousness. It is our hope that the staff of St. Joseph Medical Center went out of their way to make your stay in our Medical Center as comfortable as possible. High-quality care and compassion are our hallmarks and St. Joe’s is blessed to have talented and dedicated staff who treat patients like members of the family. We hope that someone on our staff had a special impact on you or your family by being your Guardian Angel. Guardian Angels are individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty. Through our Guardian Angel Program you can recognize your Guardian Angel and express your gratitude for that special St. Joe's caregiver. Annual Fund Gifts to the St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation Annual Fund allow us to provide opportunities that would not otherwise be available. Funding has helped to purchase state-of-the art equipment, undertake critical new initiatives such as developing the neuroscience program, expand patient care in many of our satellites, and so much more. Year after year, we count on gifts of all sizes to advance our mission. The SJMC Foundation Annual Fund is made up of contributions from grateful patients and families, community members, physicians and staff. Gifts to our Charity Ball and Golf Tournament are part of the overall Annual Fund. While the funds raised allow us to expand our services, the greatest outcome is the enhanced care that local individuals and families receive all because of the generosity of individuals who support the Annual Fund! Because Annual Fund gifts comprise one of St. Joseph Medical Center's most significant sources of philanthropic support, we have established Annual Fund Gift Clubs to recognize the importance of your gift to our mission. Special Gifts Philanthropy is a powerful force that brings about a healthier community. At St. Joseph Medical Center we are blessed by the generosity of many individuals, corporations and foundations who share in our mission of healing and hope. Some donors choice to make special gifts that go above and beyond traditional Annual Fund support. While these gifts vary in size, they are often are $5,000 and greater and may be committed and paid over more than one year. Benefactors partner with the Medical Center in funding one of the key service areas or projects that touch their heart. By generating a steady stream of income while leaving the principal untouched, endowment funds make it possible for St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation to respond to opportunities in patient care, the latest equipment and enhance facilities. Endowment funds may have a much larger impact over a long period of time than a gift being spent all at once.
